[Watch] Iftikhar Ahmed and Jason Roy Engage in Ugly Fight During PSL 2024 Match
Multan Sultans finished the league stage at the top of the points table.
In a thrilling encounter during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Multan Sultans emerged victorious against Quetta Gladiators, securing their position as the league leaders. The match, however, was not without its share of drama as tensions soared between veteran cricketers Iftikhar Ahmed and Jason Roy during the second innings.
Multan Sultans set a challenging target of 185 runs in the first innings, led by skipper Mohammad Rizwan’s stellar knock of 69 runs off 47 balls. Johnson Charles also contributed significantly with a quickfire 53 off 29 balls. Towards the end, Iftikhar Ahmed’s quickfire cameo of 20 runs off eight balls added valuable runs to Multan’s total.
The tension erupted in the third over of the second innings when Jason Roy, discussing a possible LBW review, was allegedly sledged by Iftikhar Ahmed, leading to a heated confrontation on the field. Multan’s skipper Rizwan attempted to defuse the situation, while other players intervened to calm Iftikhar. Roy, after scoring just three runs, had to walk back to the pavilion.
