IPL 2024: Matheesha Pathirana Declared Fit Ahead of CSK’s Tournament Opener Against RCB
Matheesha Pathirana will miss the first few games of the IPL 2024.
Following days of injury concerns, Sri Lanka & CSK speedster Matheesha Pathirana received medical clearance to join Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 action.
His manager shared an update on X, stating that Pathirana is fit. “The answer to ‘Where’s Pathirana’: He is fit and ready to throw Thunderballs. Be ready. Finally, together with the Legend,” the manager wrote.
Following a hamstring injury in the Sri Lanka T20I series versus Bangladesh, the CSK pacer awaits clearance from the Sri Lanka cricket board to join the team. Initial projections indicate he may sit out the first 2-3 matches.
Matheesha Pathirana to Miss First Few Matches
With CSK kicking off their season against RCB on March 22 sans Pathirana, their leading wicket-taker from the previous season with 19 scalps in 12 outings, attention turns to Mustafizur Rahman from Bangladesh, a capable alternative in the wicket-taking department.
