IPL 2024: Ishant Sharma Injures Ankle During PBKS vs DC, Availability for Next Games in Doubt

Ishant Sharma walked out of the field with the help of a physio.

In what comes as a big blow to Delhi Capitals, their senior pacer Ishant Sharma walked out of the field mid-match, limping, with the physio assisting him off the field. He apparently twisted his ankle while collecting the ball.

It all happened during the second match of the IPL 2024 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. In the second innings, with Punjab Kings chasing the total, during the third over bowled by Mitchell Marsh, Prabhsimran Singh hit a ball between midwicket and mid-on. While attempting to collect the ball, Ishant Sharma twisted his ankle and went down on the field in pain.

Ishant Sharma bowled just one over, conceding a boundary, but managed to claim the crucial wicket of Punjab Kings’ opener and captain, Shikhar Dhawan. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to continue playing in this match, and his availability for the upcoming games is uncertain.
