IPL 2024: Ex-Mumbai Indians Players Blames Hardik Pandya For Defeat Against Gujarat Titans
Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians lost to Gujarat Titans by 6 runs.
Former Indian cricket players Parthiv Patel, Zaheer Khan, and Aakash Chopra subtly held Hardik Pandya responsible for Mumbai Indians‘ narrow six-run loss against Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
In what seemed like a commanding chase by Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Titans, a flurry of wickets turned the tide, leading to a six-run victory for the Shubman Gill-led side.
Dewald Brevis’ dismissal in the 16th over, courtesy of Mohit Sharma, halted Mumbai Indians’ momentum. With Tim David replacing him, the former players argued that Hardik Pandya should have been sent in instead.
Tim David struggled with leg-spinners, and hence Tilak Varma didn’t fancy singles twice, resulting in two dots. The pressure got to Tim David and Tilak Varma, and they both got out. Hardik Pandya managed to smack a six and a four but couldn’t keep it rolling.
During the commentary, Zaheer Khan, alongside Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel, said that Hardik Pandya made a mistake by not coming in earlier to bat. They also believe that since Hardik is a good player of spin, he should have faced Rashid Khan.
