Sai Sudarshan
The left-hander will be playing on his home ground. His innings against the Mumbai Indians were a bit scratchy, and luckily, he escaped criticism because his team won the game. However, for a long time now, his batting strike rate has been on the slower side.
He would like to improve his range quickly because playing the way he’s playing at the moment, which he’s been doing for a while now, does not threaten the opposition during the middle overs.
Vijay Shankar
On the receiving end of some great death overs bowling by Gerald Coetzee in his first game of the season, Vijay Shankar couldn’t prove his worth while performing a new role given to him by the Gujarat Franchise. He’ll be keen to prove his mettle as a late-order player because him nailing this place means Gujarat will have more options to work with.

Amongst the best slow left-arm spinners playing in the domestic circuit of India, R Sai Kishore is someone who knows the ground of Chepauk on the back of his mind and the ground dimensions too would support him.
But against some of the best players of spin bowling, he’ll have his task cut out. He would be very keen to make a mark against his ex-franchise.
Deepak Chahar
The right-arm quick who has his expertise in bowling the new ball looked out of depth while bowling the match against Bengaluru.
Him coming good against Gujarat will be critical for the chances of Chennai because wickets in the Powerplay often leave the batting side with a lot to cover in the other two phases of the innings.
