IPL 2024: ‘Waha Mera Strike Rate Kam Hogya’ – Virender Sehwag Brutally Trolls Punjab Kings
Notably, Virender Sehwag played two seasons with Punjab Kings.
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag recently mocked Punjab Kings (PBKS), stating that his performance declined during his time with the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Virender Sehwag participated in two seasons with the King XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) team before retiring in 2015. Later, he took on the role of the team’s mentor from 2016 to 2018.
In the midst of Hindi commentary for IPL 2024, the former Indian opener brought up his time with PBKS, joking about how his strike rate dipped. He went on to mock the franchise for not winning any IPL trophy so far.
“Jab mein Punjab mein gaya tab mera strike rate kam ho gaya. Woh kehte hai na ke jaisi sangati waisa behave karte ho. Toh waha ki sangati waisi hi thi. Jeet te the nahi, khel te acha the nahi, toh mera game aur thoda kharab ho gaya.”
Notably, Sehwag was part of Punjab’s squad during their epic run in 2014, their standout season in IPL history. With George Bailey calling the shots, Punjab charged into the final, but ended up falling short with a heart-wrenching three-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
