IPL 2024 – Match 9 RR vs DC: Rovman Powell to Play as a Finisher? Rajasthan Royals Probable Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals

Rajasthan Royals are anticipated to stick with the same playing XI from the last match.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) play their second match of the IPL 2024 season against Delhi Capitals (DC) at their home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on 28th March, Thursday.

Rajasthan Royals won their first match against LSG by 20 runs here. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are coming off a loss which came against Punjab Kings. RR might look to continue their winning XI, while DC could make a few changes.

RR Keeps Rovman Powell on the Bench:

West Indies T20I Captain Rovman Powell was bought by RR for 7.40 crores and he was expected to bat at 6-7 for RR, but they decided to play an extra overseas seamer instead of playing the Powell. RR bought in Nandre Burger through the impact player sub and he returned with a wicket in his 3 overs while going for 30 runs. He might retain his place in the 11.

Riyan Parag to Continue Batting at for 4 for RR:

Since IPL 2021 Riyan Parag’s name has been in the headlines, sometimes due to his poor performances in IPL and sometimes because of his stellar performances in the domestics but this time Riyan has been given an assured position in the playing 11, he will bat at 4 just like he did in the first match where he scored 43 runs off 29 balls.

Sandeep Sharma to Take Care of the Death Bowling of RR:

If RR has Boult in the powerplay, then they have Sandeep in the death overs the experienced pacer made sure that RR won their first match against LSG, Sandeep was very accurate with his yorkers and slower ones that power hitter Nicolas Pooran found it very tough to smash him.

Along with Sandeep, Avesh Khan was impressed with his death bowling, even though he went wicketless in the first match but bowled remarkably well.
