‘Rohit Sharma Will Leave Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025’ – Ambati Rayudu Confirms

Rohit Sharma is expected to leave Mumbai Indians after IPL 2024, as suggested by Ambati Rayudu

The ex-Indian cricketer, Ambati Rayudu, suggests that Rohit Sharma should consider switching to a different IPL team in 2025, given that Mumbai Indians, despite his successful leadership with five IPL titles, have removed him from captaincy in a manner he perceives as disrespectful.

Rohit Sharma’s captaincy at Mumbai Indians came to an end when the team opted to accommodate Hardik Pandya’s request to join the team under the condition of being named captain, resulting in the Baroda all-rounder replacing Rohit Sharma.

The 36-year-old is currently playing as a player under the newly appointed captain Hardik Pandya in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, but speculation suggests that Sharma is eyeing the mega auction next year.

According to Ambati Rayudu, several franchises will be vying to sign the batting giant and one of the most successful captains in IPL history, Rohit Sharma, and he is confident that whichever team acquires Sharma will honour and respect him, unlike his experience with Mumbai Indians.

Here’s what Amabati Rayudu told Star Sports:

“It’s Rohit Sharma’s call where he wants to go. All the IPL teams would love to have him as the captain. He will go to a franchise that maybe treats him better than what has happened here.”

Which Team Will Rohit Sharma Join in IPL 2025?

According to multiple reports, Delhi Capitals are highly interested in acquiring Rohit Sharma’s services, while the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants, Justin Langer, has hinted at the team’s eagerness to have him on board.
