Army-Style Coaching Backfires on Pakistan as After Azam Khan, Rizwan Suffers Injury in PAK vs NZ Series
Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan suffered a hamstring injury and got retired hurt in the middle of the inning against New Zealand.
The Army-Style coaching given to the Pakistan cricket team has backfired big time, as several players, especially some big names, are getting injured during the ongoing five-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand.
After Azam Khan was ruled out of the entire five-match series, now the wicket-keeper, Mohammad Rizwan, known as one of the fittest players in Pakistan cricket, retired hurt during the third T20 against New Zealand and did not come to bat or field for the rest of the game.
In the post-match conference, Mohammad Rizwan was spotted on the field with his two kids, but he was visibly in pain as he limped and found it tough to walk properly.
Mohammad Rizwan Likely To Miss 4th T20I
Netizens have raised their voices against the Army-Style coaching style the Pakistan cricket team received earlier at the Kakul camp, where players were asked to climb mountains, use ropes, carry stones over their heads, and perform other such activities.
According to reports, the intention behind these activities was to enhance the fitness of the Pakistan cricket team and prepare them for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the USA and West Indies in June.
However, it now seems that the military training has backfired, with one player after another being injured and ruled out of cricket action. As for Mohammad Rizwan, it will be interesting to see if he will be fit enough to play the remaining two games of the series against New Zealand.
