BCCI Opens Applications for India Men’s Cricket Team Coach; Check Eligibility Criteria

BCCI invites applications for Indian cricket team head coach.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for a new head coach for its senior men’s cricket team.

Applications are open until May 27, 2024, for the position that will be soon vacated by Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup 2024.

The successful candidate will take charge on July 1, 2024, with a contract running for three and a half years until December 31, 2027.

Selection Process

The BCCI will shortlist candidates through a comprehensive review of applications followed by personal interviews and assessments. While Rahul Dravid is eligible to reapply, there are reports suggesting he might not continue.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To be eligible for the Head Coach position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Represented their national team in at least 30 Tests or 50 ODIs
  • Previously served as Head Coach of a Test-playing nation (ICC full member) for a minimum of two years
  • Possessed experience as Head Coach of an ICC Associate Nation, IPL team, or an equivalent international league/first-class team/national A side for a minimum of three years
  • Held a BCCI Level 3 Certification (or equivalent)
  • Be under the age of 60

Salary and Remuneration

The BCCI has not revealed the specific salary for the Head Coach position. However, it will be negotiable and commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
