Big Bash League Winners

The Big Bash League (BBL) has crowned many champions since it started in 2011. Each season, eight teams compete to win the title. Some teams have won multiple times, while others are still waiting for their first trophy.

Most Successful Team 

The Perth Scorchers are the most successful team in BBL history. They have won the title five times (2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17, 2021-22, 2022-23). They are known for their consistent performances and strong bowling attack.The Sydney Sixers are the second-most successful team in the league. They have won the title three times (2011-12, 2019-20, 2020-21). Their team has always been a mix of experienced players and young talent.

1. 2011-12: Sydney Sixers
   The Sixers won the first BBL title by defeating Perth Scorchers in the final. The match was close, but Sydney chased the target with ease.
2. 2012-13: Brisbane Heat
   Brisbane Heat defeated Perth Scorchers in the final to win their first and only title. Chris Lynn was their star player throughout the season.
3. 2013-14: Perth Scorchers
   Perth Scorchers won their first title by beating Hobart Hurricanes in the final. It was a dominating performance by Perth.
4. 2014-15: Perth Scorchers
   Perth Scorchers defended their title by defeating Sydney Sixers in a thrilling final. A last-ball run-out helped them secure the victory.
5. 2015-16: Sydney Thunder
   Sydney Thunder won their first title by beating Melbourne Stars in the final. Usman Khawaja played an excellent knock to guide them to victory.
6. 2016-17: Perth Scorchers
   Perth Scorchers became champions for the third time. They defeated Sydney Sixers in the final, showing complete dominance.
7. 2017-18: Adelaide Strikers
   Adelaide Strikers won their first title by beating Hobart Hurricanes in the final. Travis Head played a captain’s knock in the big game.
8. 2018-19: Melbourne Renegades
   Melbourne Renegades defeated Melbourne Stars in an all-Melbourne final. It was a dramatic match, with the Renegades defending a small total successfully.
9. 2019-20: Sydney Sixers
   Sydney Sixers won their second title by defeating Melbourne Stars. The match was affected by rain but was still thrilling.
10. 2020-21: Sydney Sixers
    Sydney Sixers defended their title by beating Perth Scorchers. They became the second team to win back-to-back titles.
11. 2021-22: Perth Scorchers
    Perth Scorchers defeated Sydney Sixers in the final to win their fourth title. They dominated throughout the tournament.
12. 2022-23: Perth Scorchers
    Perth Scorchers won their fifth title by beating Brisbane Heat in the final. It was a high-scoring match with many sixes.
13. 2023-24: Brisbane Heat
    Brisbane Heat became champions by defeating Sydney Sixers in a thrilling final.
14. 2024-25: Hobart Hurricanes
    Hobart Hurricanes became champions by defeating Sydney Thunderin a one-sided final. Mitchell Owen smashed the joint fastest century in BBL history and only second played to smash hundred in BBL final.
