Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni turns 40 on Wednesday and wishes are pouring in from all around the world for India’s former winning captain of World Cup 2011 and T20 World Cup 2007. He is regarded as one of the finest captains and players to have graced the game and have number of achievements during his illustrious career in cricket.
The only captain to win all three ICC limited-overs trophies (World Cup, Champions Trophy and the World Twenty20) drew curtains on an illustrious international career almost a year ago when he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on 15 August 2020. Notably, India’s semi-final exit in World Cup 2019 turned out to be Dhoni’s last appearance in the blue jersey.
Meanwhile, current Team India skipper Virat Kohli has come forward with a unique birthday wish for MS Dhoni.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Virat Kohli posted an image of him celebrating with MS Dhoni after Team India’s historic World Cup 2011 triumph at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. He captioned the image as ‘Happy birthday skip’
MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s World Cup-winning team-mate Virender Sehwag also came forward and gave special message to the wicket-keeper batsman on Twitter.
India pacer Ishant Sharma, who played most of his international cricket under Dhoni, also wished Dhoni by posting an image with the former skipper.
Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif said while Sourav Ganguly taught youngsters how to win, Dhoni turned that into a habit.
