IND vs PAK: The much-anticipated clash of the Asia Cup 2023 between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan is set to be played on Saturday, September 02 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Team India suffered a major setback ahead of their Asia Cup 2023 campaign, as their star wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul couldn’t fully recover from his injury and ruled out of this game against Pakistan.

Now it’s a head-scratcher for the Indian management, trying to fill KL Rahul’s spot in the playing XI. Apart from this, the Indian lineup still packs a punch with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill kicking off, and heavyweights like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravindra Jadeja holding it down in the middle.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are ready to unleash the pace, while Kuldeep Yadav takes the spin reins. All in all, team India boasts a strong lineup that can tackle any opponent, making them the ones to watch and the favourites against Pakistan.

On the other hand, Pakistan is riding high after a huge win against Nepal, thanks to captain Babar Azam’s jaw-dropping 151-run masterclass that shattered records. Not to mention, Iftikhar Ahmed also smashed a century. With confidence in their corner, they are all set to bring that fire against India.

Team India has got a tough nut to crack with Pakistan’s bowling squad, featuring the deadly trio of fast bowlers: Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah. These guys can tear through any batting lineup, and it’s gonna be a thriller watching how the Men in Blue take on the challenge.

However, before we jump into the game buzz, let’s take a look at the pitch report, conditions, stats and ground records of the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, which is set to host this epic clash between India and Pakistan.

IND vs PAK: Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

Just like in Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka match here, batting was a real challenge in the first half due to the swinging ball and tricky spin conditions. Batters who rushed into big shots ended up regretting it, showing that they need to settle in before going for the fences.

Chasing has been easy here, especially at night under the lights, and we can expect the same pattern in this game. So the team that wins the toss might want to consider bowling first.
