IPL 2025: 3 Players Who Could Replace Jacob Bethell in RCB Squad

England all-rounder Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a hamstring injury. His recovery time is not clear yet. If he does not recover in time for IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) might have to find a replacement.

RCB had signed Bethell for INR 1.25 crore. So, the replacement must be from the same or lower base price bracket. Here are three players RCB could consider:

1. Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis is one of the most exciting young players in world cricket. He recently played a big role in MI Cape Town winning the SA20 title.

Batting in the middle order, Brevis scored 291 runs in 10 innings at an average of 48.50 and a strike rate of 184. He plays spin well and has good stroke-making ability against pace. He can also bat at different positions in the lineup.

2. Tom Banton

Tom Banton, an English batter, is in outstanding form. He was the second highest run-scorer in the ILT20 2025, with 493 runs in 11 matches. He has an average of 55.00 and a strike rate of 151. His runs include two centuries and three half-centuries.

Banton played in IPL 2020 for Kolkata Knight Riders but did not get many chances. He has been called up as Bethell’s cover in England ODI squad for the ongoing series against India.

Despite his excellent form, Banton went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. But with his recent performances, he could be a good replacement for RCB.

3. Finn Allen

Finn Allen is an explosive batter from New Zealand. He remained unsold in the IPL 2025 auction but has a strong T20 record.

He has scored 3,715 runs in 135 T20 matches at a strike rate of 169.40. His batting style is very aggressive, and he has smashed 3 centuries and 25 half-centuries in his T20 career.

RCB might consider Finn Allen as a replacement for Bethell, as he can provide quick starts and play attacking cricket.

If Jacob Bethell does not recover in time, RCB has some good options to choose from. Fans will be eager to see who joins the squad if a replacement is needed.
