Shubman Gill to Open with Abhishek Sharma: India’s Playing XI for 1st T20I Against Zimbabwe

India is set to kick off their five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe on Saturday, July 6, at Harare Sports Club. Shubman Gill will lead the Indian team in T20Is for the first time during this series.

Opening the batting will be Indian captain Shubman Gill, alongside the explosive Abhishek Sharma, known for his standout performances with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Riyan Parag are expected to bolster the middle order at numbers three and four.

Wicket-Keeping Duties

Due to Sanju Samson’s unavailability in the first T20I, Dhruv Jurel will take on the wicket-keeping responsibilities. Jurel impressed during IPL 2024 with Rajasthan Royals.
