A day after the completion of the India-England ODI series, skipper Virat Kohli hit the gym on Monday, commencing his preparations for the IPL 2021 which is nearly a week away. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain shared a short video of him running on the treadmill and captioned it, “no rest days.”
AB de Villiers was quick to reply to Kohli’s tweet. The former South Africa skipper said that he loved Kohli’s form. The batting superstar also posted a photo of himself with the luggage as he was all set to join the RCB team.
“Loving the form @imVkohli.. I’m all packed to join the team,” wrote de Villiers. Kohli then posted a cheeky reply on de Villiers’s comment, writing: “Hope you’re still fast between the wickets.”
This is when the South African Superstar threw the challenge at Kohli. The veteran batsman asked his RCB skipper to race with him to find out whether he is still fast or not as he wrote: “Let’s race tomorrow to find out”
Notably, De Villiers has retired from the international arena and only play in few T20 leagues around the world.
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off on April 9 from Chennai as BCCI unveiled the schedule for the marquee event. The IPL Governing Council informed that IPL 2021 would begin at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
However, due to the COVID-19 scare, the BCCI has only chosen six places to stage the 14tg edition of IPL. These places are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Further, every team is supposed to play at neutral venues.
