India will play their first match of Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan at Pallekele
The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup will be played in a hybrid model in Sri Lanka and Pakistan from August 30 to September 17. A total of six teams, namely India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal are going to compete in the continental tournament.
While India, Pakistan and Nepal have been placed in Group A, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in Group B. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Fours. The final of the tournament will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India Squad for Asia Cup 2023
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a robust squad for the Asia Cup 2023, appointing Rohit Sharma as captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain. In a bid to fortify the team, the Men in Blue have welcomed back Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, both having recovered from their previous injuries.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has been preferred over Yuzvendra Chahal in the spinners’ category due to the former’s brilliant form. Leading the charge in the all-rounders section are Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, and Hardik Pandya.
The pace bowling unit will be under the guidance of Jasprit Bumrah, with Mohammed Shami contributing his wealth of experience. Assisting them in the pace attack are Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.
