‘Babar Azam Kohli Ke Jute K Barabar Bhi Nahi Hai’ – Danish Kaneria

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has ignited controversy with scathing remarks directed towards Babar Azam following Pakistan’s shock defeat to the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Babar Azam, currently one of the best batters in the Pakistan cricket team, has not been able to make the same impact as Virat Kohli.

Although Babar Azam has broken many of Virat Kohli’s records, most of them have come against associate nations or weaker teams. He has rarely performed like Virat Kohli during critical chases to save Pakistan.

Babar Azam was once again under immense scrutiny for his run-a-ball knock against the USA in the recent T-20 World Cup 2024 match, which Pakistan lost in a super over.

For the majority of the match, Babar Azam was batting with a strike rate below 100. It was only shortly before he got out that he managed to surpass a strike rate of 100.

Speaking on this, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria made controversial remarks, stating that whenever Babar Azam performs even slightly well, he is compared to Virat Kohli. However, in reality, the Pakistan skipper is nowhere near to Virat Kohli.

Here is what Danish Kaneria told IANS ahead or India vs Pakistan match:

“Pakistan cricket team is a joke, not serious about T20 World Cup, just holidaying in US with family, Babar Azam stands nowhere near Virat Kohli…Virat k jute k barabar bhi nahi hai.”

Virat Kohli has a strike rate of about 130 while facing Pakistan in T20 World Cups. In a total of five matches he has played against Pakistan in T20 World Cup history, he has scored 308 runs. He will be taking the field against Pakistan once again on Sunday, June 9, in New York.
