Babar Azam Sues Pakistani Journalist for Rs. 1 Billion Over Match-Fixing Allegations

Babar Azam has taken legal action the Pakistan journalist over match-fixing allegations.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 captain, Babar Azam, has taken legal action against journalist Mubasher Luqman, issuing a Rs. 1 billion defamation notice after the senior journalist made serious match-fixing allegations on social media.

Babar Azam has filed a defamation case following a series of match-fixing accusations levelled against him and his teammates by a Pakistan journalist.

Luqman alleged in his video that Babar Azam was bribed with costly presents, such as an Audi E-Tron and luxury apartments in Australia and Dubai, to lose matches against India and the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024.

According to reports, Babar Azam, through his legal team, has demanded a public apology from the Pakistani journalist, and threatened him with additional legal action if the apology is not issued.

Babar Azam has reportedly returned to Pakistan and is expected to soon present the Pakistan cricket team’s T20 World Cup 2024 report to the Pakistan Cricket Board.
