In a thrilling Challenger match of the 2024-25 Big Bash League, Sydney Thunder successfully chased down Sydney Sixers‘ total of 151/7, securing a 4-wicket victory.

A critical partnership between Sam Billings (42*) and Matthew Gilkes (26) helped steady the ship, and though a few more wickets fell, Billings’ calm presence at the crease guided Thunder to a comfortable victory.
The Thunder reached 157/6 in just 18.5 overs, with Hayden Kerr’s (2/35) performance with the ball proving invaluable for the Thunder, who successfully chased the target with 7 balls to spare.
Sydney Thunder will now face Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL 2024-25 final on Monday.
