BCCI Announces Schedule For Second Phase Of IPL 2021 in UAE

The remaining matches of IPL 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Sunday, July 25 announced the schedule for the remainder of the IPL 2021, which is scheduled to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September-October.

One of the most anticipated and famous T20 leagues had to be postponed in the middle because of Covid-19. Players from some teams were infected with the coronavirus during the first phase of the tournament, which was therefore postponed as a precaution.

The 14th season of this league has already seen 29 matches played in India, with the remaining 31 fixtures scheduled to be held in UAE in the duration of 27 days.

The remainder of IPL 2021 will resume on 19th September in Dubai with a most anticipated match MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians.

The action will then shift to Abu Dhabi where the Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sharjah, on the other hand will host its first game on 24th September when Royal Challengers Bangalore will square off against Chennai Super Kings.

Overall, 13 matches will be played in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah and 8 in Abu Dhabi. There will be 7 double headers with the first match starting at 3:30PM IST and second at 7:30PM IST.

The final league stage game will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on 8th October. The 1st Qualifier will be played in Dubai on 10th October. The Eliminator & Qualifier 2 will be played in Sharjah on 11th & 13th October respectively with Dubai hosting the Final of the mega tournament on 15th October this year.
