Ben Duckett Declines IPL 2025 Offer from Delhi Capitals
Ben Duckett refused Delhi Capitals' offer to replace Harry Brook in IPL 2025.

England batter Ben Duckett was approached by Delhi Capitals (DC) as a replacement for Harry Brook in IPL 2025. However, the left-handed opener decided not to take the offer.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan revealed this news, saying that DC wanted Duckett, but he declined the opportunity.
Harry Brook Pulled Out of IPL 2025
Delhi Capitals had signed Brook for ₹6.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. But before the season started, Brook announced that he was pulling out. He said he needed time to rest after a busy cricket schedule and wanted to focus on his international career.
DC has not yet announced a replacement for Brook. They recently won a close game against Lucknow Super Giants but are still looking for another batter in their squad.
Would Duckett Have Been a Good Replacement?
Duckett has played 205 T20 matches, scoring 5,159 runs with 33 half-centuries at a strike rate of 140.38. He is an opener, while Brook can also bat in the middle order. If Duckett had joined DC, he would have had to compete with Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk for an opening spot.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals won their opening match against Lucknow Super Giants by 1 wicket in Vizag.
