Big Blow to Punjab Kings! Lockie Ferguson Ruled Out of Remaining IPL 2025
Punjab Kings suffer a big setback as Lockie Ferguson is ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a serious quad injury.

Punjab Kings have been hit with bad news in the middle of the IPL 2025 season. Their star fast bowler, Lockie Ferguson, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a quad injury.
The injury happened during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, 12th April, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Ferguson came to bowl in the second innings, but things didn’t go as planned.
He was brought into the attack in the 6th over, but after bowling just two deliveries, the pacer stopped mid-run-up, holding his quad. He looked in visible pain and was unable to continue. He had to leave the field and didn’t return for the rest of the match.
At first, Punjab Kings expected the injury to be minor and hoped he would recover in time for the coming games. But now, the update is not good for the team or the fans.
A day before their match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings bowling coach James Hopes confirmed the news.
Speaking to the media, he said that the chances of Ferguson returning in IPL 2025 are almost zero. According to him, it’s a serious injury and there’s hardly any hope of seeing him again this season.
“Ferguson is out indefinitely, and us getting him back by the end of the tournament is a very low percentage. I think he’s done a real decent injury to himself,” said James Hopes.
This is a huge loss for Punjab Kings, who were depending on Ferguson’s pace and experience to strengthen their bowling lineup.
