Chennai Super Kings is set to release all rounder Ben Stokes ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, Cricbuzz reported.
Stokes was one of the most expensive signings of IPL 2023. He was signed by Chennai Super Kings for a whopping amount of INR 16.25 crore.
Ben Stokes had a challenging stint in IPL 2023, with a knee injury and selection issues restricting his appearances to just two matches. During these games, he scored 15 runs and didn’t contribute much with the ball.
Chennai Super Kings clinched their fifth IPL title in the recent 2023 edition of the cash-rich league under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
Meanwhile, the auction for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is set to take place on December 19, 2023 in Dubai.
