There is speculation surrounding the anticipated return of South African cricketer Faf du Plessis to the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League auction, with reports gaining traction and a recent tweet from the team adding fuel to the fire.
Quoting the tweet from their sister franchise Joburg Super Kings, led by Faf du Plessis in SA20, Chennai Super Kings wrote:

The Chennai Super Kings fan base is abuzz with anticipation, expecting Faf du Plessis to make a return for the IPL 2024 season. However, there’s speculation about his discussions regarding a comeback to the South Africa national team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of Faf du Plessis for INR 7.00 Crore and appointed him as the captain of the team after Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy.
The Proteas batter has looked in great form with both the bat and his captaincy for RCB so far, and there’s no likelihood that they will trade Faf du Plessis to CSK.
