CSK Register Lowest Ever Total at Chepauk in IPL History

Chennai Super Kings recorded their lowest ever IPL total at Chepauk, managing just 103 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a terrible outing on Friday as they recorded their lowest-ever total at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in IPL history.

Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 25th match of IPL 2025, the home team managed to score only 103 runs in 20 overs, marking one of their worst performances at Chepauk.

This is only the third time CSK have failed to cross the 120-run mark at their home ground. The previous lowest total for the team at this venue was 109 runs, which came against Mumbai Indians back in the 2019 season.

On both occasions, the team’s batting struggled under pressure and failed to build any partnerships.

The slow pitch of Chepauk is known to help spinners, but Chennai Super Kings have always managed to adapt well over the years.

However, this season has not gone as expected. Their batting unit has not performed consistently, and this collapse against KKR has exposed major issues.

With senior players not contributing and youngsters under pressure, the team is finding it tough to gain momentum.

The latest match against KKR saw a complete batting failure. None of the batters apart from Shivam Dube and Vijay Shankar could reach even 30 runs.

The rest of the line-up collapsed quickly against disciplined bowling from Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakaravarthy.

With this performance, CSK now joins a rare and unwanted list of teams who have scored less than 110 runs at Chepauk.
