CSK vs DC: Why Faf du Plessis Is Not Playing Today’s IPL 2025 Match?

The 17th match of IPL 2025 is happening at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Two strong teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC), are playing against each other.

At the toss, Delhi Capitals won and decided to bat first. This means CSK will bowl first and try to restrict under par score.

But there was one surprise for the fans. Faf du Plessis, the famous player of Delhi Capitals, is not playing today. This made many fans confused and sad. Faf had played very well in the last match. He even scored a half-century. So, everyone expected him to play today also.

During the toss, Delhi Capitals’ captain Axar Patel gave the answer. He said that Faf du Plessis is not fit to play this match. That is the reason he is not in the playing eleven today.

“We are going to bat first. Feels like there’ll be help for the bowlers. Expect it to get slower as the game progresses. In our team, we have a few players who have captained other franchises and that helps me a lot. Same combination. Faf is not fit for this game, Sameer Rizvi is playing.
