DC vs SRH: Mitchell Starc Destroys SRH Batting, Grabs First IPL Five-Wicket Haul

Mitchell Starc etched his name in IPL history by claiming his first-ever five-wicket haul.

Mitchell Starc produced a historic performance in the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was his first ever fifer in IPL history, leading Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack with his fiery spell.

His lethal pace and accuracy made it difficult for Sunrisers Hyderabad batters to settle, and he played a crucial role in bowling them out for 163 runs in 18.4 overs.

Starc started his destruction early by removing Travis Head for 22 runs. He then dismissed Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy in quick succession, putting Sunrisers Hyderabad in deep trouble.

His impact was felt throughout the innings as he returned in the death overs to clean up Wiaan Mulder and Harshal Patel, completing his historic five-wicket haul. Though he conceded 35 runs in his 3.4 overs, his ability to take crucial wickets at key moments made a significant difference for Delhi Capitals.

The match also saw Starc dismiss Travis Head for the sixth time in his career. Out of these six dismissals, four were for a duck, making it a fascinating battle between the Australian teammates.

Despite Sunrisers Hyderabad getting a strong middle-order boost from Aniket Verma’s 74 off 41 balls, Starc’s fiery spell ensured they could not build on that momentum.

Starc’s incredible performance not only made history but also showed why he remains one of the most dangerous fast bowlers in the world.

His five-wicket haul will be remembered as a landmark moment in IPL history, proving that top-quality fast bowling can still dominate the shortest format of the game.
