“Do What RCB Did!” – Coach Daniel Vettori’s Advice to Sunrisers Hyderabad Ahead of CSK Match

Sunrisers Hyderabad have found themselves struggling in IPL 2025, sitting at ninth place on the points table with just two wins from eight matches. After their recent loss to Mumbai Indians at home, their chances of making it to the playoffs have taken a serious hit.

However, head coach Daniel Vettori hasn’t given up hope. In fact, he wants the team to take a lesson from Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s stunning comeback last season. “RCB last year was one team who was able to resurrect their season. If we can take some inspiration, it’s from RCB,” Vettori said during the post-match press conference.

RCB in IPL 2024 had a rough start, losing seven of their first eight games. But they bounced back hard, winning six matches in a row to finish in the top four with 14 points and qualify for the playoffs. Vettori believes SRH can do something similar if the players stay focused and committed in the remaining games.

While SRH showed early signs of promise, things have quickly gone downhill. They began the season with a record-breaking 286-run total against Rajasthan Royals and later chased down 245 runs versus Kolkata Knight Riders. But since then, their batting unit has failed to deliver, especially on slower and tricky pitches.

Vettori pointed out that adaptability will be the key from here on. The openers need to step up, and the entire squad must show more fight, especially with their next match scheduled against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk — a venue known for its spin-friendly surface.

Even though SRH’s playoff hopes seem slim at this stage, their coach is urging the players not to give up. Just like RCB scripted a miraculous turnaround last year, Vettori believes there is still time for Pat Cummins and his side to aim for that fourth spot.

The message from the coach is clear — keep believing, keep fighting, and take inspiration from a team that once proved anything is possible in this league.
