ENG vs PAK: Jos Buttler Ruled Out of 3rd T20I Against Pakistan

Jos Buttler will miss the third T20I against Pakistan due to the birth of his child.

England cricket team captain Jos Buttler will be missing the upcoming third T20I against Pakistan scheduled for May 28th due to paternity leave. Buttler and his wife Louise are expecting their third child soon.

The England skipper missed the training session on Monday and is unlikely to be available for the match in Cardiff. Reports suggest it’s unclear if he’ll rejoin the team for the series finale on May 30th at The Oval before England’s T20 World Cup squad departs for the Caribbean on May 31st.

However, Buttler is expected to travel with the team for the T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier, the 33-year-old had prioritized being with his family for the birth, raising concerns about missing England‘s opening World Cup match against Scotland on June 4th.

Current reports indicate he will likely be available for the first game, leading the defending champions.

In Buttler’s absence, Moeen Ali will lead the team. England currently leads the four-match T20I series against Pakistan 1-0, with the first game washed out and England winning the second by 23 runs.
