England Tour of South Africa: Faf du Plessis rested for 3 Match ODI Series against England, Kagiso Rabada Not The Part of Team Due to Injury

Cricket South Africa on Thursday confirmed the unavailability of Faf du Plessis from the upcoming three matches ODI series between South Africa vs England.

Faf du Plessis has been rested for the 3 match ODI series against England. In addition to du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Pete Van Biljon, Bjorn Fortuin and Reeja Hendricks have also been rested.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement-

“The following players have been released from the squad to either join their franchise teams who continue playing in the CSA Four-Day Domestic Series or for rest and/or recuperation; Faf du Plessis (rest), Kagiso Rabada (injury rehabilitation, recuperation and rest), Pite van Biljon, Bjorn Fortuin and Reeza Hendricks (all to return to 4-Day Domestic Series).”

Faf du Plessis Scored 121 Runs in T20 Series

Faf du Plessis participated in the recent three-match T20 series against England. He had scored a total of 121 runs in the three-match.

England’s Clean Sweep in T20I Series

England did a clean sweep against South Africa in the 3 match T20 series. England won the first T20 by 5 wickets, the second T20 by 4 wickets and the third T20 by 9 wickets. David Malan adjudged Man of the Series for his fantastic performance throughout the series. Malan missed his T20I century by 1 run in the last match of the series.

ODI Series Starting December 4

The first match of the 3-match ODI series between the two countries will be played in Cape Town on December 4. The second ODI will be played on 6 December in Paarl and the third on 9 December in Cape Town.
