‘Failed To Run 1 Round of Gaddafi Stadium’ – Ex-Pakistan Player Exposes Azam Khan

Atiq-uz-Zaman revealed that Azam Khan failed to complete one lap of Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan’s fitness woes continue to be a major talking point. Former Pakistani batter Atiq-uz-Zaman has added fuel to the fire with some scathing remarks.

Atiq-uz-Zaman sharply criticized Azam Khan’s physique, calling it “disappointing” and “childish” for a wicket-keeper. He went a step further, revealing that he witnessed Khan struggle to complete a single lap around Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

These revelations raise serious questions about the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) selection process. With such evident fitness concerns, how can Azam Khan justify a place in the national side, let alone as a wicket-keeper, a role demanding agility and stamina?

“How disappointing and how childish does it look for Azam Khan to be an international wicket-keeper for Pakistan and he’s been completely exposed,” Atiq-uz-Zaman said.

“I have witnessed, Azam Khan could not even complete 1 lap of the Gaddafi Stadium.”

Azam Khan’s struggles were already on display during the recent T20 series against England. Fans and former cricketers alike have criticized his performance, and it seems increasingly likely that he will be dropped from the squad ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
