Former Indian Cricket Star Joins Afghanistan as Team Mentor for ICC World Cup 2023
Afghanistan Cricket Board announced Ajay Jadeja as the mentor for the Afghanistan team in World Cup 2023
In the latest turn of events, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has named former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja as the mentor for the Afghanistan team in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.
This decision comes in light of Afghanistan’s lacklustre performance in both the 2015 and 2019 World Cups. They faced a tough run in the 2019 World Cup, losing all nine matches. In the 2015 World Cup, they played six matches, winning just one and losing five.
The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to commence on October 5th, with the opening match slated to feature the reigning champions, England, against the runners-up from the last edition, New Zealand, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Afghanistan will kick off its ICC World Cup 2023 journey on October 7th as they take on Bangladesh at Dharamsala Stadium. Their second match is scheduled against India on October 11th at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
