Hardik Pandya Set to Lead India Against Afghanistan, Confirmed for Full IPL 2024 Action – Report

Earlier there have been reports that Hardik Pandya is likely to miss the entire Afghanistan series and IPL 2024.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has recovered from an ankle injury and is all set to join Team India in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, starting on January 11, as reported by The Times of India on Sunday, December 24.

Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury in the World Cup 2023 clash against Bangladesh, leading to his exclusion from the entire prestigious tournament. Subsequently, he also sat out the white-ball series against South Africa and Australia.

Earlier reports in the day suggested that Pandya might face an extended period on the sidelines due to the injury, raising the possibility of him missing IPL 2024 as well. Mumbai Indians, who acquired Pandya for INR 15 crore from Gujarat Titans in the trading window, had recently appointed him as their captain.

According to the Times of India report, it has been emphasized that Hardik Pandya is presently not ruled out for IPL 2024 and is expected to make a full recovery for the lucrative league. He is slated to lead the Mumbai Indians and participate in the entire tournament.
