Haris Rauf, Alongside Two Other Pakistan Players, Set to Play for IPL-Owned Franchises
Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, and Abrar Ahmed are likely to play MLC 2024.
Haris Rauf, Pakistan’s fiery fast bowler, is expected to be retained by the San Francisco Unicorns for the upcoming 2024 season of Major League Cricket (MLC) in the USA.
The MLC, launched in 2023, features six teams, four of which are owned by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises. These include MI New York (Mumbai Indians), Texas Super Kings (Chennai Super Kings), LA Knight Riders (Kolkata Knight Riders), and the Seattle Orcas (Delhi Capitals). The other two teams are the San Francisco Unicorns and the Washington Freedom.
Reports suggest that alongside Haris Rauf, young talents Zaman Khan and Abrar Ahmed could also be seen in the 2024 MLC. However, their participation hinges on receiving No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
This development indicates a growing interest from Pakistan players in the USA-based T20 league. The MLC offers a platform to showcase their skills on a global stage and potentially gain valuable experience playing alongside established international stars.
It will be interesting to see if the PCB grants NOCs to all three players and how they perform if they are selected in the upcoming MLC draft.
