I Don’t Focus on the Past” – Babar Azam on India’s 7-0 Record Against Pakistan in ODI World Cup History
Babar Azam is optimistic & confident that Pakistan's victory to break India winning streak in world cup
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, is optimistic that his team will finally break their winless streak against India in the ODI World Cup when they face off on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Although Pakistan holds the edge in the overall head-to-head record against India in ODIs, it’s worth noting that they have struggled to pose a significant challenge to India in the ODI World Cup.
Throughout history, in all seven instances where these two teams have met in the ODI World Cup, the Men in Blue emerged victorious on all seven occasions with Pakistan yet to taste a victory.
Addressing the pre-match conference ahead of the three-match series on Friday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam stated:
“I don’t focus on the records or the past. Our team has been doing well and these kinds of records are meant to be broken. Hope it happens tomorrow.”
India and Pakistan have been on a winning spree, maintaining flawless records in the World Cup 2023 so far. When they face off in Ahmedabad on October 14, it will mark the first time one of them faces a potential loss in the competition.
