ICC T20I Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav Retains Top Spot, No Place For Virat Kohli in Top 10

The stylish Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has retained his top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following his stupendous performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia.
Though Suryakumar Yadav’s rating points dropped to 859, 10 lesser than his career-best ratings of 869, which he achieved after smashing three fifties in five innings, he still managed to hold on to the throne at the top of the rankings.

The Mumbai batter failed to deliver against England in the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022 as he was dismissed for just 14 runs, which saw him losing 10 rating points in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings issued on Wednesday, November 16.
Suryakumar Yadav was the second-highest run-getter for India in the showpiece event, having scored 239 runs at an outstanding average and strike rate of 59.75 and 189.68 respectively. He also finished as the third-highest run-scorer in the event.
Virat Kohli Remains Out of Top 10 Position in Latest ICC T20I Batting Rankings
The Indian batting veteran, Virat Kohli, who finished the marquee event as the highest run-scorer, however, failed to find a spot in the top 10 and remains in the 11th place. He scored 296 runs in six innings at a staggering average of 98.67 and a strike rate of 136.41.
Meanwhile, Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan continued to remain at the second spot with 836 points, 23 less than Suryakumar. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who had earlier eclipsed New Zealand’s Devon Conway after his fifty in the semi-final against New Zealand, retained his third spot in the tally.
Alex Hales, The Biggest Gainer in The ICC Rankings
However, the biggest gainer in the aftermath of the T20 World Cup 2022 was England’s star opener Alex Hales, who smashed an unbeaten 86 from 47 deliveries in the semifinal against India. He made a big jump, climbing 22 places up to claim the 12th spot.
Hales has been in great form ever since he returned to the England setup following Eoin Morgan’s departure. He finished the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign as England’s second-highest run-scorer with 212 runs at an average of 42.40 and a strike rate of 142.22.
