Rachin Ravindra played a sensational unbeaten innings of 123 runs off 96 balls in the ICC World Cup 2023 opener held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, helping New Zealand secure a convincing nine-wicket victory over England.
Joining Rachin Ravindra in the record books, New Zealand opener Devon Conway also notched up a century, making them the 15th and 16th batters in ODI World Cup history to achieve this milestone on their tournament debut.
Apart from that, the young batting sensation Rachin Ravindra also became the fastest and youngest batter in New Zealand‘s history to score a century on the World Cup debut. Overall, he is the third youngest batter in World Cup history to achieve this milestone.
Topping the list is Virat Kohli, who achieved the remarkable feat of scoring a century on his World Cup debut at the age of 22 years and 106 days. Following closely in second place is Andy Flower, who secured his World Cup century at the age of 23 years and 301 days. Additionally, Rachin Ravindra entered this elite club by scoring a century on his World Cup debut at the age of 23 years and 321 days.
