IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out The Final Test Against Australia
Jasprit Bumrah, the key to India's attack, sustained the strain during the drawn third Test in Sydney.
The Indian cricket team’s injury woes have worsened with Jasprit Bumrah, their pace spearhead, being ruled out of the Brisbane Test due to an abdominal strain he suffered in the Sydney Test against the Australian cricket team which ended in an epic draw.
The fourth and final Test is scheduled to be played from January 17 in Brisbane. Both the sides will be seen fighting for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. But team India is currently seeing their number of players being injured and ruled out of the series.
Talking about fast bowlers, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma have already been out of the series due to their respective injuries.
A BCCI source told ANI that even after three days of rest, Bumrah would be half-fit even if he would come in the Brisbane Test.
Jasprit Bumrah has taken 11 wickets in three Tests of this series at an average of 29.36. The BCCI has not released any official press release yet.
On the other hand, according to PTI, Bumrah’s scans showed a strain and the Indian team management does not want to risk his injury due to the upcoming four-Test series against England.
“Jasprit Bumrah suffered an abdominal strain while fielding in Sydney. He is going to sit out of the Brisbane Test but is expected to be available against England,” a BCCI source told PTI.
It is now expected that Mohammed Siraj, who plays two Tests, will lead the Indian attack and Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan will accompany him in the Brisbane Test starting on January 15.
On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal is also injured while batting on the net. He has been taken for a scan, if a fracture does not occur, he can replace injured Hanuman Vihari in the fourth and final Test.
