IND vs BAN: Ebadot Hossain Ruled Out As Bangladesh Name Squad For 2nd Test Against India

Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain has been ruled out due to an injury.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), on Sunday, December 18 announced the squad for the second and final Test, scheduled to start on December 22 in Dhaka.

KL Rahul-led team India trounced the hosts by 188 runs in the opening test of the series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in the first session of the fifth and final day of the game.

The left-arm pacer Ebadot Hossain ruled out of the second Test due to injury while uncapped left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed has been added to Bangladesh’s 15-member squad for the second Test.

“Ebadot received an injury on his back in the first Test. He will not be fit for the second Test. That’s why we took Nasum in his place though we have yet to decide whether we would play an extra spinner in Dhaka,” said selector Habibul Bashar.

While batter Anamul Haque has not been picked, former captain Mominul Haque has retained his place in the squad and is likely to take the field against the visitors in the second Test.

Earlier, Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo provided an update on Shakib Al Hasan’s shoulder injury, stating that they are not sure whether Shakib would be able to bowl in the second Test. During an interaction with the media after the first Test, here’s what Domingo said:
