IND vs ENG: Shreyas Iyer Dropped From Team India Due To Poor Form
Shreyas Iyer has been dropped from India squad for the remaining three Tests vs England.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the remaining three Test matches against England on Saturday, February 10, and surprisingly, Shreyas Iyer failed to make the cut.
While there were reports that he complained of back pain, ESPNcricinfo has reported that he was cleared to play by the medical team. However, due to his poor form, the team management has decided to drop him.
Shreyas Iyer could not even manage to hit a fifty in his last 11 Test innings and seemed pretty off his game, especially with the bat. In the latest test match at Vizag, he started off alright, but then he threw away his wicket and couldn’t make any real impact.
Meanwhile, Team India receives a major boost as Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul make their return to the squad. Their inclusion, however, is contingent upon passing fitness assessments by the BCCI.
