IND vs IRE: Jasprit Bumrah Named Captain of Team India
Jasprit Bumrah is finally making his return to the international cricket after a year-long break due to injury

Jasprit Bumrah has been named captain of India’s 15-member squad for the T20I series against Ireland.
Following a nearly year-long absence due to a recurring back injury, Bumrah is finally making his return to the cricket field.
His last appearance was during India’s T20I bilateral series against Australia at home before missing the T20 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.
The 29-year-old later underwent back surgery in March earlier this year in New Zealand with rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
In another major update, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as Bumrah’s deputy for Ireland tour, while pacer Prasidh Krishna, is also making a return.
The likes of Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube have earned their maiden T20I India call-ups after their stellar performances in IPL 2023.
