IPL 2020: Harsha Bhogle Picks His Best XI of The Tournament

Renowned sports journalist Harsha Bhogle has picked his Best XI of the just concluded Indian Premier League ( IPL 2020) and didn't pick Virat Kohli.

After the conclusion of the latest edition of the Indian Premier League, many cricket experts and Pundits are putting forward their opinions on the teams and players of the tournament. Meanwhile Renowned sports journalist Harsha Bhogle has picked his Best XI of the just concluded cash-rich league.

Starting with the openers, he picked KL Rahul, the orange cap winner of the tournament. He accumulated 670 runs in just 14 games at a strike rate of 129.34. Although his team couldn’t qualify for the playoffs,he emerged as the star player of the tournament and has earned praises from many legends.

With KL Rahul, Bhogle then picked Delhi Capitals’ opener batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who is the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament. He scored 618 runs in 17 games with a strike rate of 144.73. He also became the first batsman to hit two consecutive centuries in the cash-rich league.

For number three, he preferred Mumbai Indians’ veteran batsman Suryakumar Yadav. He is one of the most consistent players of Mumbai Indians. He accumulated 480 runs in 16 games with a strike rate of 145.01.

For number four, Bhogle went for RCB’s AB de Villiers, who batted brilliantly in the tournament and proved his worth once again. For middle-order, he went for Mumbai Indians’ veteran batsman Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard, who are known for big hits. Bhogle made his picks while speaking on Cricbuzz Live.

For bowling attack, Bhogle went for Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer and Mohammed Shami. Archer was awarded ‘the most valuable player’ of the tournament. Not only did he pick up wickets, but he also managed to turn up with some lusty blows in the death overs. Jasprit Bumrah was second in the list of highest wicket-taker with 27 wickets in 15 games.

Surprisingly, he didn’t pick Kagiso Rabada, the purple cap winner of the tournament. He picked 30 wickets in 17 games.

For a spinner, he chose Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Yuzvendra Chahal and SunRisers Hyderabad’s Rashid Khan. Both of them performed sensationally in the tournament.
