Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had a dreadful run in the IPL 2022 despite making a thumping start in the cash-rich league. They won three of their first four matches. However, they lost momentum in the middle and suffered five back-to-back losses. In the end, they finished at the bottom half of the points table with six wins and eight losses.
Ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders released a total of 16 players, including the likes of Aaron Finch, Sam Billings, Baba Indrajith, Pratham Singh, and Pat Cummins. Also, they were one of the busiest sides during the trade window, having roped in Shardul Thakur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Lockie Ferguson. They also traded Aman Khan to Delhi Capitals.
