IPL 2023 Retention: Gujarat Titans (GT) Trades Lockie Ferguson & Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Gujarat Titans successfully traded Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders.

The defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) have successfully traded Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson and Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, November 13.
Ferguson played 13 matches for Gujarat Titans in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League and picked 12 wickets, including a sensational four-wicket haul against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals.
The Kiwi speedster was signed by Gujarat Titans in the mega-auction for a whopping amount of INR 10 crore after the bidding war with DC, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
“New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has been traded from Gujarat Titans to Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming TATA IPL 2023. He played 13 matches for Gujarat Titans and picked 12 wickets that included a 4-wicket haul,” the BCCI announced in a statement on Sunday.
“Kolkata Knight Riders have also traded Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Gujarat Titans. He was included in the Gujarat Titans squad in the 2022 TATA IPL edition as a replacement for England batter Jason Roy but did not play any game last season,” the statement added.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, on the other hand, was roped into the squad as a replacement for England batter Jason Roy. However, the Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter didn’t get a chance to feature in any of the matches of Gujarat Titans last season.
All ten franchises have been asked to submit the list of players retained by November 15, the deadline set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The auction for the upcoming edition will be held in Kochi on December 23.
