IPL 2023: Shubman Gill Stands Up Against Harassment from Fans By Doing ‘THIS’

Shubman Gill and his sister became targets of abusive behavior from a small group of Kohli and RCB fans.

The limelight has been firmly on Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli ever since they unleashed their centuries in the recent league stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Gujarat Titans against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

However, Shubman Gill’s century turned the tide in favour of the Gujarat Titans, as they inflicted a six-wicket defeat on the Faf du Plessis-led side, eliminating them from the playoffs contention and shattering the dream of Virat Kohli and his team to lift the trophy.

While the majority of fans celebrated Shubman Gill’s sensational century knock, there were a few sections of Kohli and RCB fans who stooped to a disgraceful level, hurling abuse not only at Shubman Gill but also at his sister on Instagram.

While sportsmen and cricketers often brush off trolls and online abuse, the Punjab batter chose to take notice. He made a statement by liking a tweet from a journalist who penned an open letter condemning the abusive treatment directed at Shubman Gill and his sister by the Kohli and RCB fans.

The news of Shubman Gill liking a tweet has spread like wildfire across social media, quickly going viral. Fans are standing up for him in large numbers, collectively opposing the actions of the Kohli fans and those who directed negativity towards the star batter and his sister.
