IPL 2024: ‘Buzurg Dhoni’ – Virender Sehwag Makes Controversial Remarks on Former CSK Captain

Virender Sehwag recently stirred controversy by referring to MS Dhoni as a 'Buzurg' during a recent interview.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has once again sparked controversy by referring to MS Dhoni, the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, as ‘an oldie’ in a recent interview.

MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy of CSK just before IPL 2024 and handed over the reins to the young Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK, having played two matches, has won both thus far.

In their latest match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the Chennai Super Kings crushed the Gujarat Titans by a whopping 63 runs. It was MS Dhoni who once again stole the show with an epic catch behind the stumps.

Reflecting on the match, Virender Sehwag commented, “Catches win matches,” highlighting the stellar performances by Ajinkya Rahane, Rachin Ravindra, and MS Dhoni in pulling off some spectacular catches.

It was during this discussion that Virender Sehwag referred to MS Dhoni as ‘buzurg,’ which translates to ‘elderly’ or ‘oldie’.
