IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Probable Playing XI

Devon Conway unavailability force CSK to open with Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad in IPL 2024

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) kick off their championship defence against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22nd, marking the IPL 2024 season’s grand opening at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Right before the season commenced, a significant setback hit them hard as their star opener, Devon Conway, was sidelined for the entire tournament due to a thumb injury.

Now that Conway has been ruled out of the playing 11, let’s take a look at the expected playing 11 for the Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming IPL 2024 season:

With Devon Conway unavailable, the Chennai Super Kings are expected to turn to another New Zealand batter, Rachin Ravindra, who they acquired in the IPL 2024 auction. He’s likely to partner with Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top of the order.

Occupying the number three position is Ajinkya Rahane, whose menacing form from last year continues to impress, with Shivam Dubey, the dynamic all-rounder, following suit. Mitchell Santner, the New Zealand spinner, takes the number four slot, followed by the new addition Sameer Rizvi.

The responsibility of finishing remains with Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni, supported by the all-round capabilities of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, who add depth to CSK’s batting and pace attack.

Maheesh Theekshana will share spin duties once again with Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner.
