IPL 2024: CSK Fan Beaten To Death in Kolhapur for Celebrating Rohit Sharma’s Wicket
A CSK fans was brutally beaten to death for celebrating Rohit Sharma's wicket during the SRH vs MI encounter.
In a tragic incident during the ongoing IPL 2024 season, a 63-year-old Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan was fatally beaten for celebrating Rohit Sharma’s wicket.
The clash began when Bandupant Tibile was viciously attacked with a stick for celebrating Rohit Sharma’s wicket during the recent encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
The authorities have arrested the accused perpetrators, Balwant Jhanjge and Sagar Jhanjge, the duo linked to the assault.
The incident occurred following an IPL match on Wednesday, sparking a brawl between two groups in Hanmantwadi, located in the Karveer Taluka of Kolhapur district.
In the heat of the moment, Balwant Jhanjge and his nephew Sagar Jhanjge reportedly used a wooden board and a stick to assault Tibile, inflicting fatal injuries.
As per reports, the fight began as friendly banter between Tibile and Balwant Jhanjge during SRH vs MI match’s live screening but quickly turned physical.
Consequently, both Balwant Jhanjge and Sagar Jhanjge sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the hospital for medical care.
Following Tibile’s passing, the Karveer Police have detained the suspects, Sagar Jhanjge, and Balwant Jhanjge. They have been remanded by the court for additional investigation.
