IPL 2024 – Match 13: DC vs CSK Match Preview, Playing 11, Players to Watch, Key Stats

Delhi Capitals are yet to secure their first victory in IPL 2024.

The thirteenth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see Chennai Super Kings clashing with Delhi Capitals at their tentative home ground in Visakhapatnam on 31st March, Sunday.

Chennai and Delhi have faced each other in 29 matches in the IPL. In this rivalry, Chennai has always had the upper hand by securing 19 victories over Delhi’s 10 wins.

The 22-yard strip at Vizag is expected to favour the batters as it did in the last T20 game it hosted where the curators dished out a flat batting paradise which resulted in a high-scoring encounter.

Chennai are again high on their no-holds-barred approach where their sole intention is to out-bat the opposition by taking more frequent chances which results in runs scored with a lot of boundaries.

Delhi Capitals are yet to register their first win of the season under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant who himself looked out of touch after his return to professional cricket after a while.

Key Batters to Watch for DC vs CSK :

Ruturaj Gaikwad

The newly appointed skipper has had a great start to his captaincy career but his batting strike rate has had a formidable drop which he would want to improve in the game against Delhi.

Ajinkya Rahane

The seasoned campaigner is yet to find his mojo back where he scored runs for fun against teams, teams now have got smarter against him they seldom expose their pacers against him and let the spin bowlers do all the talking which is clearly his weaker suit ensured his diminishing returns.

As the tournament progresses the tracks will get slow and dry which may turn out to be his nemesis he would want to be in tune quickly otherwise Chennai may drop him for Sameer Rizvi.

Key Bowlers to Watch for DC vs CSK:

Tushar Deshpande

The Mumbai-born pacer who was part of the Ranji title-winning team is now starting to show his experience in the IPL arena. In his last game, he bowled magnificently to grab wickets and in a game before he kept his cool and contained an inform Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik while bowling the final over of the Innings.

Mukesh Kumar

Kumar who has his expertise in bowling brisk seam-up deliveries in the channel outside off stump with the new cherry and his skill of landing the Yorkers in death makes him an asset to have in any T20 side. Delhi would hope he’ll bring his best form to make up for the lack of form of Anrich Nortje.
